Summer Visual Arts Camp

Monday, July 17, 9:00

We believe in encouraging creativity and building community amongst young people through the Arts.

This year, the camp programs revolve around two themes: "Celebrating Diversity", and "Into the Wild"The camp involves daily ventures into the great outdoors, field trips within the community, and daily lunches and collaborative activities with the Theatre Campers. There will be one supervised sleepover each week, on Thursday nights, along with the Theatre Campers on the Capitol Centre Theatre stage. The campers always have a hoot at the sleepover!

Celebrating Diversity:  JULY 17 - 21

Learn about the rich variety cultures of North Eastern Ontario, and Canada, through art making activities which allow campers to explore and celebrate diverse cultural traditions. From mask-making, paper plate painting and banner designing, to collaborative group activities and educational presentations, campers in this program will leave with excitement about the cultural diversity of our province and our nation, during Canada 150.

Into The Wild: JULY 24 - 28

Explore the vast ecosystem in which we live in North Bay, through landscape and wildlife-focused art making activities and adventures. Experience the great outdoors daily with local field trips, and celebrate flora and fauna through hands-on educational workshops and activities. The beauty of nature will inspire campers as they create a rainbow of diverse creatures from the plant and animal kingdom, in a variety of media. Campers will leave feeling exhilarated about the place which they call home, and eager to get out into nature to enjoy its vast possibilities!
