Full-Time Gallery Assistant


As part of the Capitol Centre, the Gallery Assistant will identify and engage priority audiences through research and community outreach to assist in developing educational and exhibition programming which engages the diverse public of the North Bay region, and provides professional development opportunities for artists in surrounding communities. The position will assist the WKP Kennedy Gallery in achieving its high impact potential in Northeastern Ontario by serving the region with relevant, engaging and enriching Arts programming.

Specific responsibilities include researching regional demographics and developing marketing tools, educational programming ideas and community outreach agendas. This position will also assist the Gallery Manger with the graphic design of promotional materials, installation/de-installation of exhibitions, and fostering community partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS: University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program. The position will be a first full-time employment in the candidate’s field of study. Strong communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Apple programs, and Photoshop is a must. Candidate must possess the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A background in fine arts, arts management, or public relations is an asset.
