'Zhichikewin Emiigwewin' - Things We Make in This Place – Call for Submissions from Indigenous Artists/Makers

April 27, 2022

Call for exhibition projects: We are seeking five professional Indigenous artists/maker to exhibit their work at the WKP Kennedy Gallery in June of 2022. This exhibition is a partnership between the WKP Kennedy Gallery and the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Center

The WKP Kennedy Gallery is now accepting exhibition project submissions for an exhibition from June 17th to August 5th (6 weeks of exhibition). Works in progress or planned can be submitted for the large gallery (Gallery II).

The premise of this show is to feature Indigenous artists from any Indigenous nation on Turtle Island (or otherwise) who live within 100kms of the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre; the people who live, work, and call this place home today. It's a celebration of our Indigenous cultures' diversity, an appreciation of this beautiful land here and now, and our community. Indigenous makers have always been taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary as a way of telling the story of the paths we take. Five artists will be selected to tell and share their stories. Ideally, a mix of contemporary and traditional mediums.
